Today we met up for some spinning where I was able to work out my flawed short draw. Although my mentor claims that "perfect yarn" is manufactured, I know I'm a long way off. But practice makes...much nicer yarn and I'm all the happier for it as I enjoy the art of spinning!
I couldn't help myself though, as I had an open opportunity to bring out a gift I had received from my mentor earlier in the year. Two little Weave It looms that sat in a wooden box, waiting desperately to escape the dark shadows and delve into a basket of colourful yarn. So, happily we strung the 4'' Weave It and I got to "under and over" all afternoon. The results being a soft square that will become part of a double king size blanket I have planned already. Ha! Truthfully, it will be lucky to be a part of a cot size blanket but only time and yarn will tell!
I know what you're thinking and it's true... Spinning mentor?! I am the luckiest fibre person in the world!
