The interesting thing is this... Have a look at the ribbing for the bottom of said sweater. The fat puffy one (pictured on top) is my most recent and about 10 times larger, thicker and taller than the second one. Would you agree? Before you go and say it, I know there are more rows in the top one but you can clearly see the difference. My point is, I would have thought that my knitting tension would stay the same through out life just plotting along evenly, sweater after sweater. But this is not the case. The example on the bottom in the picture is what I'm meant to be knitting to match the back of the sweater that I made way back in February. I'd venture to say the correlation between stress in life is similar and reflected in my knitting!
I guess the interesting thing to ponder is, is our knitting a reflection of our life? Far stretch? Maybe not. My tense, tight knitting was created when I was working, commuting, pregnant, stressed, scared, confused and not sure what was happening to my body! My fluffy, puffy knitting was created now that I'm spending time with my baby, family and friends, enjoying watching the changes in life (and still not sure what is happening to my body, but that's a different story!)
Can you pin point a time when your knitting reflected a point in your life? Maybe everything flowed smoothly? Or the opposite, you just couldn't get anything right? I would love to hear about it below!
