While I was making them, I enjoyed imagining the faces of the people who might receive them. I like the thought of keeping others warm.

Hook size: 6.0mm
Sizes made: Toddler, Adult (improvised Adult +)
Let me tell you what's good about this pattern: If you are one of those types of people that love an instant gratification project, this one is for you! Categorised as "easy crochet", it's use of basic techniques have you whizzing around the toe and working the foot in quick flat rows. Before you know it, you'll be stitching up the heel. I like the option for colour variation around the toes, the pictures in the book provide inspiration for some stunning colour combos. The pattern will provide detailed measurements, which are nice and accurate ( I measured several people's feet just to be sure!) and notes are simple to process. I really like how the slippers come together with the upper edge encasing hat elastic. It adds a certain sturdiness to the whole slipper as well, having the upper edge nice and taught is comfortable on the foot.
Extra bits you should know before casting on. In the picture above the grey/brown pair of slippers is the 'adult' size**. However, as these fit my foot perfectly (a size 6) I decided to make an 'adult +' size which consisted of adding extra stitches and rounds but easily plugged into the pattern none the less. This left me with a size 8 slipper. (If you are interested in my adapted size 8, just message me below) **As always, I can't just leave a pattern alone and must admit that all slippers consisted of two extra rounds before dividing for the instep, just to be sure the little toes are well and truly covered!
The crochet skills you will need for these slippers are chain stitch, double crochet (single crochet for our USA friends, working in the round and working flat.
