Recently, I decided to clean out my little knitting nook. In the back of my mind I had thought it would be a small job requiring little time. I didn't think I had much in my ONE basket allowed in the living room, so on I went. You can imagine my surprise when I approached said area and discovered what looked like and extremely colourful landfill of yarn, projects, needles, bags, scissors and who knows what else... Seriously, how the f**k did this happen?
I started to pick through the disaster area and I slowly started to uncover project after unfinished project. Where the heck did these come from and why haven't I finished, blocked, photographed and blogged about them for my hungry readers? Ugh. That one is a problem unto itself - the dropped stitches in my lace sock (seconds away from finishing the second toe- insert angry face). Then there is the gorgeous diamond grannies - that keep coming out in totally different sizes (insert confused face). Last and certainly the most wicked is my own Mitred Square Blanket (THAT I USE TO TEACH WITH!!!) that I joined on to the wrong edge and now have mitred squares facing every which direction (insert that's not good enough, shaking finger face).
So what's the point of airing my dirty laundry, my secret shame pile? I guess these projects may have been conveniently hidden away for another day. Perhaps I need to bring them out when I am feeling particularly strong and tinking can be considered a small part of my day. Projects have cycles. Hibernation can be one of those cycles and I'm okay with that... But today is the day to pick up where I left off and finish them.
What projects are you hiding away?? How long have you been hiding them?!
