Pattern: Crochet Retro Slippers
Designer:Patons Retro Babes, Book 1306
Yarn: Lincraft 4 ply cotton
Let me tell you what's good about this pattern: This is a great 'classic' pattern to keep in your collection. A good 'go to' when the time calls for such a gift. This project requires minimal yarn and for said reason is perfect for using up odds and ends. The written pattern is pretty straight forward for those comfortable with Treble stitch, Double crochet, increasing and decreasing however thorough written instructions can be found throughout the book itself.
Extra bits you should know before casting on: I mention that these booties were an "adaptation" of the pattern as the classic booty in the book has you wrapping the last round of dc's around some elastic for a stretchy opening. I followed the size 6 months up until this point. I deviated from the pattern by wrapping the last round of dc's around a 37cm piece of leather and used a wooden toggle button to fasten. This was merely an aesthetic choice.
